Creating a Sound Design project from conceptual to final
01
Planning and conceptualizing
This first step is the most important for all creative fields. Doing the research and conceptualizing projects is what can make or break the final.
02
Execution
The execution phase consists of recording sound effects, voices, ambiences and music. Then taking those recordings and mixing them into a DAW.
03
Delivery
Every project has different deliverables depending on where the project is going to be sent to.
Sound Design Showreel (2025)

This is a showreel of all my projects I did in 2025 during my post-graduate year at university.

In order of appearance

1) Stable Foundations
2) Dogman
3) The Deep Beckons
4) Peri Peri Praat campaign overview

Stable Foundations (2025)
This is a short documentary about ethical horse ownership that I made for my final project in my postgraduate year. The purpose of this film is to showcase the technicalities and the joys of horse ownership.

I collaborated with the well known equine rescue NPO, Highveld Horse Care Unit to create this film.

I was the director, editor and sound designer for this project.

The Deep Beckons
This Audio Drama depicts a young man named Elliot, who is marine audio live streamer. He finds out that a whale pod has not migrated through the area this year, and he plans to find out why. He decides to dive deeper to solve the mystery, but he may have bit off a bit more than he can chew.

This is a Audio Drama I made for my postgrad diploma at The Open Window Institute. The task was to create a narrative from 3 objects. My objects were a Scuba Diving mask, Headphones and a Horse Shoe.
Gabe (2024)
This is a short animation that I reimagined the Sound Design for. I do not own the animation. All the sound design done in this is my own.
This was a project I did at university where we were giving silent animations to add Sound Design to.
